There’s more than one way to make Lemonade

I have a confession.

I don’t want The Realness in Business to be my main gig. Actually, I never have. It has always been a cog in the bigger picture I wish to create. I’m a multi-hyphenated creative, able to do quite a few things really well…it’s when I try to do them all at the same time is when they all go Pete Tong. It’s one of the reasons why I’ve changed the name. I’ve found another use for The Realness in Business….

Within the next 5 years, my husband and I hope to emigrate permanently from the UK. Where we hope to be, does not have the infrastructure of the UK, so I cannot have a dependency on it. Having alternative sources of income that I can bring in is the key to being able to live a life I love. I also do not want to be financially dependant on my partner.

So i’ve been spending these past few years trying out different ways of achieving this and for many reasons, most of them haven’t worked.

Sometimes it’s been due to paralysis due to procrastination, comparisonitis, inaction, not showing up. not selling, not explaining the transformation and also…should-ing on myself.

There was a book that helped me confirm what I really wanted for myself and that was Chillpreneur by Denise Duffield Thomas. I don’t want a business where I need to be present full-time in it. I want to plant seeds and grow a garden where I can invite people in and pick from what I’ve grown; employees, collaborations, mentees. I honestly do not think that is achievable by one thing…I like variety in just about everything I do, it’s the learner in me. Doing one thing at a time? yes totally I get it, for things to work they need focus…but only ever doing one thing for the rest of my days?

NOOOOOOOO.

So I am building my passive income streams. My ‘different recipes of lemonade’ for discerning tastes. they won’t be for everyone but there will be something for someone. I hope to build three streams over the next 12 months. Don’t worry, I’ll be sharing how I get on as I think, you may want to do this to.

Be taking care and I’ll be seeing you around the internet somewhere.

K.
